மஞ்சள் குலையும் வீடும்
வீதியுமாய் அலங்கரித்த தோரணமும்
குமரிகளும் கிழவிகளும் போடும்
கும்மாளமும் வாசலில் வைத்த காய்
கனியும் "பொங்கலோ பொங்கல்"
என்ற மகிழ்ச்சிக்குரலும்
கேட்காமல் இருந்தாலும்
கேஸ் அடுப்பிலாவது
பொங்கல் வைத்து வாழும்
தமிழனாகி விட்டோம் என்றாலும்
இன்னும் கிராமங்களிலாவது பொங்கல்
பொங்கும் ஓசை கேட்கிறதே
அது வரையில் சந்தோஷம் தான்

அழகி திரைப்படத்தில் உருக்கமான காட்சி :            கதாநாயகி நந்திதா பார்த்திபன் வீட்டில் வேலைக்காரியாக இருப்பார். அவரது மகன் 'அம்மா பசிக்குது' என்று சொல்வான். அம்மா 'நந்திதா' மகனுக்கு பார்த்திபன் வீட்டு பிரியாணியை சாப்பிடக் கொடுப்பாள். அப்போது சக வேலைக்காரி வந்து 'மற்றவர்கள் சாப்பிட்ட பிறகுமிச்சம் மீதியைத் தான் நீ சாப்பிட வேண்டும். இனிமேல் நான் தான் உனக்கு சாப்பாடு போடுவேன்.' என்று கூறி விட்டுப் போவாள். சிறுவன் அதை சாப்பிடாமல் "ஏம்மா வயிறு பசிச்சா தப்பாம்மா'
என்று பரிதாபமாகக் கேட்பான். பசி என்பது எல்லோருக்கும் பொதுவானது. ஆனால் பணக்காரர்களிடம்
வேலை செய்யும் ஏழைக்கு மட்டும் விதிவிலக்கா? முதலாளிக்கு மட்டும் இல்லை ; அங்கே வேலை செய்யும் சக வேலைக்கரிக்கும் அடிமையாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பது ஏழைகளின்
தலையெழுத்தா?

தமிழ் திரைப்படங்களில் மனத்தை நெருடிய சில காட்சிகள்: மகாநதி படத்தில் கமல் தனது மகளை தேடி கல்கத்தா செல்வார்; அங்கே அவள் விபச்சாரியாக வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருப்பாள்; அவளை மறுபடி வீட்டுக்கு கொண்டு செல்ல முயற்சி செய்யும் போது அங்கே உள்ள ரௌடிகள் அவரை பணம் கொடுத்தால் மட்டுமே திரும்ப கொண்டு போக சம்மதிப்போம் என்று சொல்வார்கள்; கையில் பணம் எதுவும் இல்லாத கமல் கதறி அழுவார். அப்போது விபச்சார விடுதியில் வாழும் அவளைப் போன்ற பெண்கள் முன்வந்து பணம் கொடுத்து உதவி செய்து அவளை திரும்ப அழைத்துப் போகச் சொல்வர். சமுதாயத்தால் விபச்சாரி என்று ஒதுக்கப்படும் பெண்களுக்கும் நல்ல மனம் உண்டு என்பதை நமக்கு உணர்த்திய படம் அது.

The second day function is Mattu Pongal. It was celebrated for the cows by the farmers. On that day people decorate their cows. They paint on their horns with different colours ,put garlands to them. They consider it as “Lakshmi” and worship it as . A special pooja was conducted for the cows. In afternoon they perform “bull fight” with their cows. Prizes will be distributed to the winners.

They make pongal and dedicate it to them. The third day function was “Kaanum pongal” .  On that day youngsters meet elders and get their blessings and greetings.

Festival of Tamilnadu

  Pongal is known as the Festival of Tamilnadu. It is also known as “ Tamilar Thirunaal”.  It was celebrated for three days by the government of Tamilnadu. The first day function is Pongal .It was celebrated by the farmers since most of the Tamilians  in olden days were farmers. It was the day to convey our thanks to the Sun God.  For celebrating pongal people whitewash their houses and decorate well . They draw “Rangoli Kolams” in front of their houses. On that day people get up early in the morning, take bath and wear new dress. They lit Deepams in front of their houses. They dedicate fruits and vegetables to the Sun God. And then make Pongal with rice and jaggery in a new pot. The Pongal was the prasadam to the Sun God.

For our best friends we mustn’t give any gifts instead we share all things about us and we shouldn’t hide any matter from them. Moreover we should be always true with them. If there is even a small change in your friendship you should know to understand that.You can argue with your friends about their ideas and adjust with them ; because only you can make your friends happy and try always to be with them. As a good friend you can do all the best things. Moreover you should always to be conscious with them. Don’t say “I forgot about you” . Because it will bring misunderstandings between friends.

Being aTamilian I am very proud to share abou t the specialities of Tamil Nadu. Tamilnadu is well known for its culture and tradition. Our traditional dance is “Bharathanatyam”. Tamilnadu is famous for its temples and sculptures. In Mammalapuram we can see the five Rathas each  were made by single rocks. The temples are having Gopuras which are seen with many sculptures. The Sreerangam temple has the highest gopura in Tamilnadu. Kanyakumari, The southern most point of Tamilnadu is famous all over the world. There is temple for Goddess Bhagavathi.She is the most powerful Goddess . During Tsunami her temple was not affected and she is the saviour of the people of Kanyakumari.

The Goddess Bhagavathi is considered as Virgin Goddess of Kanyakumari.The nosestud of the Goddess was made of Diamond.During the Tsunami  her temple was not affected and she saved the people of Kanyakumari. In our Tamilnadu we are having the coolest place and the hottest places. In summer we can go to Ootty and Kodaikanal which are the coolest places within Tamilandu.The tamil people are hardworkers. They can work even in the hot sun. In Tamilnadu the famous Bird sanctuary "Vedanthangal" is located. In " Velankanni" there is a temple famous for "Mary" the mother of Jesus. It is visited by people of all religions. Also there is mosque for muslims in Aathoor which is also visited by people of all religions.In Kanyakumari we can see both the sunrise and sunset. The people of Tamilnadu are hard workers. They can work even in the hot sun..In Kanyakumari we can see both the sunrise and sunset . Moreover there is a memorial for "Gandhiji " the Father of our nation; and :" Kamarajar" who is considered to be "the eyes of education " by the people of  Tamilnadu. And in the middle of the sea there is a memorial of "Vivekananda" which is located on a rock. In the nearest rock there is statue of "Iyyan Thiruvalluvar" who wrote “Thirukkural “ which was translated in almost all the world languages.
